Starsand Island Update — What's New in 1.0

Starsand Island 1.0 update: multiplayer, PS5/Switch 2 launches, new festival, romance scenes, and the limited launch discount.

Last verified: 2026-08-19

Starsand Island Version 1.0 launched on August 18, 2026 as the biggest update in the game's history. It adds 4-player multiplayer, two new platforms, a new festival, three romance arcs, and a permanent Blueprint Contest hall of fame.

Headline features

Version 1.0 adds online multiplayer for up to 4 players, the simultaneous debut on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, the Autumn Pumpkin Festival, three new 3-heart romance story arcs, new dating activities (hot springs afternoon tea, kite flying, arcade tokens), and 20+ community-winning blueprints from the Blueprint Contest. The 20% launch discount runs through early September.

Bug fixes and quality-of-life

The 1.0 update rolls up bug fixes from the entire Early Access cycle. NPC dialogue now triggers reliably, the rain-rendering bug is fixed for indoor areas, and the duped-residents glitch (which caused Sylvane to spawn twice) is resolved. Performance on PS5 in the Moonlit Forest was also tuned.

The first major post-launch patch

Seed Sparkle Lab confirmed that the next patch (Version 1.0.1) will land within the first two weeks and focus on remaining launch-day issues. Console updates trail the PC version by 24–72 hours because each platform holder runs its own certification review.

What's coming next

The post-launch roadmap covers three pillars: continued quality-of-life improvements, additional NPC voice content, and cross-platform multiplayer evaluation. A seasonal content update is also expected before the end of 2026.
